Die design and construction

Engineering department and own die-making workshop

At TYRSA we are designers specialized in dies, and we are proud to offer a comprehensive service. We have a dedicated engineering department that handles each project, from conception to implementation. Our team of experts works closely with our clients to ensure their needs and specifications are met at every stage of the process.

What sets us apart is our ability to build matrices both for our internal use and for external clients, with the aim of providing tailored solutions. Our die-making workshop, equipped with advanced technology and operated by highly trained professionals, is the heart of our production capacity. This is where each design comes to life, with precision and quality guaranteed in every piece manufactured.

Whether for projects within our company or for external clients, we strive to deliver exceptional results. The combination of experience, dedication and a focus on excellence allows us to offer dies custom designed and built to meet the specific needs of each application.

  • What is metal stamping?
Metal stamping is a manufacturing process that uses tools and presses to transform sheet metal into three-dimensional parts through cutting, bending, drawing, and other operations.
  • What are the common types of metal stamping?
Metal stamping can be hot or cold. At TYRSA we use the cold stamping system with mechanical presses. The most common types of cold stamping are: simple stamping (with a single stroke of the press), progressive stamping (multiple sequential operations on a sheet), and double-acting or coaxial stamping.
  • What industries is metal stamping used in?
Stamping is applied in industries such as automotive, electronics, household appliances, among others, but we can find stamping parts in any industrial sector, for example in engines, car components, carpentry, electronic circuits...
  • What are the advantages of metal stamping?
It offers high precision, fast production, lower costs at high volumes, the ability to work with various materials and the ability to create complex shapes.
  • What materials can be stamped?
A wide variety of metals can be stamped, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper (both DHP and ETP), brass, bronzes, nickel silver, beryllium alloys and other specialty alloys depending on the properties required for the final part. In addition, other materials such as plastics, fiber, polypropylene or nylon can also be printed. We can also work with tapes that have previous electrolytic coatings, either completely or selectively.
  • What is the difference between stamping and die cutting?
Die cutting is a more general term that includes the stamping process, but can also refer to specific cutting or punching operations without necessarily forming the part.
  • What is the useful life of a stamping die?
Lifespan can vary depending on material, die design, and usage, but well-maintained dies can produce thousands or even millions of parts before requiring replacement or significant maintenance.
  • How to select the right stamping process for a specific project?
It depends on the complexity of the part, the quantity required, material selection and precision specifications. Consulting stamping experts is crucial to making the best decision.
  • What is the typical production time in metal stamping?
Time may vary depending on the complexity of the piece, the type of stamping and the quantity. However, stamping is typically faster at high volumes compared to other manufacturing methods.
